Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.


Q1) Liquidated damages are listed in the table of contents (section 4), however no mention of liquidated damages exists. What are the liquidated damages?

A1) Per the Special Notices page; " Refer to Section 8-1.07, "Liquidated Damages," of the Amendments to the Standard Specifications for your project specific liquidated damages based on your total bid." For this project that is on page 76 or 283 of the Amendments. . 10Jun10.


Q2) Regarding the Bid Item 21 for Mainline Cold Plane Asphalt Concrete Pavement, the specifications page 68 says that no more than 2 days can elapse between cold planing and paving operations. Does this allowance of 2 days include the time for the 15,205 SY Repair of Failed Areas also in the Mainline? If not, can the Mainline Repair of Failed Areas be done prior to the Cold Plane Asphalt Concrete Pavement?

A2) Repair failed areas will be done prior to cold planing mainline and individual repair areas must be completed within the same shift before re-opening lanes. Once fail areas repair is complete, cold planing can begin. Cold planing activities must be scheduled so that not more than 2 days elapses between the time the pavement is cold planed and the HMA is placed.
