The responses to bidder's inquiries, unless incorporated into a formal addendem to the contract, are not a part of the contract and are provided for the bidder's convenience only. The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder's inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of Section 2-1.03 of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications or Special Provisions, nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.

Q1) How do we obtain the cross sections?

A2) Cross sections can be purchased from Coastal Reprographic Services, 880 Via Esteban, Suite B, San Luis Obispo, Ca 93401, (805) 543-5247.

Q2) There is no Bid item for the 600MM x 600MM RCB and there is no Bid item for the 600MM x 900MM RCB, plan sheet 1.

A2) The 600MM X 600MM RCB and the 600 X 900MM RCB are paid per Contract Item #36 Class 1 Concrete (Box Culvert) and Contract Item #38 Bar Reinforcing Steel (Box Culvert). Please reference the Drainage Quantity Table on Sheet DQ-1.

Q3) Can a precast box be used on this project?

A3) Bid in accordance with plans and specifications.

Q4) Addendum #1 indicates the contract will not be awarded until the 2007/2008 budget act becomes law. When will that be and will the project not be started this year?

A4) No

Q5) Will the utility companies be excavating within the street area. How will the utility trench be restored? Will they base and pave the trench to existing conditions?

A5) Yes, the utility will replace the shoulder to its existing structural section.
