The responses to bidder's inquiries, unless incorporated into a formal addendem to the contract, are not a part of the contract and are provided for the bidder's convenience only. In some instances, the question and answer may represent a summary of the matters discussed rather than a word-for-word recitation. The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder's inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of Section 2-1.03 of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications or Special Provisions, nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.

Q1) item 26, adjust fire hydrant: there is no detail of the hydrant adjustment. dont know if it is height adjustment/new bury and hydrant?

A) The height of the hydrant will be adjusted after sidewalk reconstruction.

Q2) item 38 cl 2 base; quantity sheet Q-8 has 830 cm on D Line, the x sections dont show where this goes, where does it go?

A) The 830 M3 of Class 2 Aggregate Base on quantity sheet Q-8 along "D" Line, is for constructing a 1:4 slope to eliminate all drop-offs along lanes open to public traffic and any excavations regardless of depth and distance from the edge of the lane.

Q3) plans have construction details for tree well modifications, where does the money for this work go.

A) Full compensation for constructing tree wells and enlarging tree wells except for slurry cement backfill and decomposed granite shall be considered as included in the contract price paid per cubic meter for Contract Item No. 52, Minor Concrete (Miscellaneaneous Construction).

Q4) Are overhead sign structure sign panels also to be state furnished?

A) No, they are to be furnished by the contractor.

Q5) If so, what Bid Item are they to be paid under?

A) The contractor will be paid to furnish the overhead sign structure sign panels per contract item 45, Furnish Sign Structure(Truss).

Q6) will item 11 channelizers be paid in accordance with standard specifications. paid as by actual count on the plans.

A) Contract Item 11, Channelizer(Surface Mounted) is paid by the actual count.

Q7) Is there Cushion Materials required under the Sidewalks, Driveways, and/or Curb and Gutter ?

A) Please refer to the contract plans.
