The availability or use of information provided in the responses to bidder's inquiries is not to be construed in any way as a waiver of the provisions of Section 2-1.03 of the Standard Specifications or any other provision of the contract, the plans, Standard Specifications or Special Provisions, nor to excuse the contractor from full compliance with those contract requirements. Bidders are cautioned that subsequent responses or contract addenda may affect or vary a response previously given.
Q1) Are cross sections available for this project?
A1) Cross sections are available for this project. Please contact Coastal Reprographics Services, Tel No. 1-800-543-5247. Refer to project EA 0A4904 SB 166 (Cuyama Rehab).
Q2) In Special Provisions section 10-1.01 Order of Work it says: " The Contractor shall schedule operations so that at the end of each working day all cold planed areas shall be paved with asphalt concrete as shown on the plans." I assume that this applies to bid item # 44 Cold Plane AC Pavement 80,200 M2, which is cold planing a full 5 miles of road. The plans show that an asphalt slope correction leveling course shall be placed over certain areas of this 5 miles, not everywhere. If the plans are correct, then not all areas get paved prior to the cold foaming in the cold plane area. Since, it appears that traffic will be driving on at least some cold plane surface, does that mean the above sentence still applies? What is the intent of this?
A2) Please disregard the sentence " The Contractor shall schedule operations so that at the end of each working day all cold planed areas shall be paved with asphalt concrete as shown on the plans." in section 10-1.01 of the Special Provisions.
