Q1) Dense grade specs call for 58-34 polymer mix. Our understanding is that this material is used in higher elevations. Would Caltrans accept the 64-10 mix in lieu due to the elevation of the project?

A1) Please bid per current contract documents. If a change becomes necessary, it will be done by proposed Contract Change Order. 12Apr10.


Q2) Rubberize Hot Mix design calls for 58-22 polymer mix. Our understanding is that this material is used in higher elevations. Would Caltrans accept the 64-16 mix in lieu for this project?
