Q1) On Sheet X-1 the Typical Cross Section shows 75mm HMA (type B)& 170mm Cl 2 AB on the left hand side. The right hand side shows a 30mm RHMA-G, 75mm HMA, and 365mm & 170mm Cl 2 AB. Is the 30mm RHMA-G a complete overlay ontop of the 70mm HMA on both sides of this typical cross section ?

A1) Yes, the 30 mm RHMA-G is an overlay over the existing pavement and the 75 mm HMA widening on both sides of the highway. The AC quantities were calculated on this basis.

Q2) Does any lead contaminated material need to be offhauled from the site and disposed of? The way I read the specs, no material is to be offhauled. Can you clarify this?

A2) Refer to the Roadway Quantities in the Summary of Quantities on Sheet 18 of the plans. As there is not an excess of roadway excavation material, the embankment will require imported borrow, with no off-haul anticipated.

Q3) Are Cross-Sections available so I can perform my own quantity takeoff for the excavation and import required?

A3) Cross sections are available from Stockton Blue Reprographics, located at 1421 N. El Dorado St., Stockton, CA 95202; phone (209) 464-8724, fax (209) 464-8739, E-mail: Don@stocktonblue.com
