Q6) There is a requirement for the interior finish to have a 0.15 mil epoxy primer and a backer coat. This epoxy primer is a special order product and not manufactured as a standard at the sheet coil mill. In order to obtain this product, there will be a substantial increase in the standard lead time of the material as well as the cost of the material as it would be a special order product. If requirement is confirmed, the lead time for the material will most likely exceed the entire duration of this contract. Please advise if special epoxy primer and backer coat will be required and acceptable manufacturers who will provide the product within an acceptable timeframe.

Q10) The closest AC plant for this project is Bing Materials, Gardnerville, NV. In order to keep the cost of the AC to a minimum, would you consider using Type A in lieu of Type B. If they have to submit on an AC mix design it's $3,000.00 extra. They will be supplying a Type A mix on another project and there would be no additional charge for the mix design if you would consider this mix.
A10) Yes, the Department will consider substitution of Type A Hot Mix Asphalt (HMA) for the Type B HMA specified for paving work. The asphalt binder must be PG 64-28 and the aggregate must comply with the 3/4-inch grading specified for Type A HMA, in accordance with the requirements of Section 39 "Hot Mix Asphalt" of the amended Standard Specifications.
Q11) What is the design of the trench for the one 3/4" conduit that runs from the existing building to the new building. I need to know depth, type of backfill ( is concrete required?) I have checked the standard specs. and did not get a clear answer.

Q15) Plan Sheet 2 0f 27 Layout: The north end of the building seems to be in cut and the south end seem to be several feet above original ground. What should the profile and slope be outside of the building in order to meet original ground. Will the building pad grading, borrow, etc to construct the building pad be paid as Roadway Excavation?
A15) The slopes outside of the building pad (cut and fill) will vary to conform to original ground. Earthwork for the driveway shown in the Typical Section and Layout on Sheet X-1, is covered under Item No. 6, "Roadway Excavation," and is measured and paid by cubic yard. Refer to Section 19 "Earthwork" of the Standard Specifications and to the Amendments to the Standard Specifications in the Special Provisions.
