Q) AR16000 Oil is called out for this mix design. Quanitity is 95 tonn. As a supplier we have to purchase in truck load quantities, ie: 25 or 12 tns. For this amount we will use aprox. 5 tns of material to make the mix. When we quote this job we will quote the total amount of oil into the job which drives the cost of your project up. Can you make the demand fit a truck load and get the benefit of the freight and the total load in to the job?
A) Please refer to Section 10-1.19 of the Special Provisions, "Replace Asphalt Concrete Surfacing." It states that "Asphalt concrete used for replace asphalt concrete surfacing shall conform to the provisions for asphalt concrete in 'Asphalt Concrete' of these special provisions except for payment" and "The contract price paid per cubic meter for replace asphalt concrete surfacing shall include full compensation for furnishing all labor, materials (including asphalt concrete)..." Please bid in accordance with the contract plans and specifications.
