Delays Expected on State Highway 99 near Grant Line Road
SACRAMENTO COUNTY – Caltrans is alerting motorists that overnight construction on State Highway 99 south of Elk Grove is expected to cause delays for northbound and southbound directions tonight into tomorrow morning.
The construction to clear the area underneath the freeway is part of a larger project to rebuild three bridges south of Grant Line Road. For safety to workers and to motorists, one lane in both directions will be shut down from 9 p.m. January 18 to 8 a.m. January 19.
Because the highway narrows and there are only two lanes in each direction at this location Caltrans urges motorists to choose an alternate route to avoid the expected delays.
Caltrans District 3 will issue updates on Twitter @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3. For real-time traffic, click on Caltrans’ QuickMap quickmap.dot.ca.gov/ or download the QuickMap app on iTunes or Google Play.
