12th Avenue Exits Closed for Scheduled MLK March

Off Ramps From State Highway 99 in South Sacramento Temporaily Blocked

SACRAMENTO COUNTY Caltrans is alerting motorists that the 12th Avenue overpass from State Highway 99 is expected to be temporarily closed to northbound and southbound motorists for approximately one hour on Monday, January 21.

An organized march from Oak Park to Sacramento City College has been scheduled on the Martin Luther King holiday. A large turnout is expected to delay surface street traffic and access to the freeway.

The exit ramps for both directions will be shut down from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m.  Motorists are urged to choose an alternate route to avoid the expected delays.

Caltrans District 3 will issue updates on Twitter @CaltransDist3 and on Facebook at CaltransDistrict3. For real-time traffic, click on Caltrans’ QuickMap quickmap.dot.ca.gov/  or download the QuickMap app on iTunes or Google Play.
