New Left Turn Lanes Being Constructed on State Highways 20 and 70
MARYSVILLE – Motorists should prepare for overnight construction activity and lane restrictions through the summer on segments of State Highways 20 and 70 in Marysville,
Caltrans announced today.Construction crews will be working around the intersection of 5th Street and Highway 70 (known as E Street locally) and at intersections on Highway 20 (known as 10th Street locally) between the 10th Street Bridge and E Street. Motorists can expect overnight lane closures from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m. Sundays through Fridays
The first traffic-interfering work is scheduled to start Tuesday night with crews installing temporary traffic signals at the intersection of Highway 70 and 5th Street. North- and southbound motorists can expect lane restrictions to start at 9 p.m.
On Monday, June 19, crews will be start work to upgrade sidewalk ramps to meet current Americans with Disabilities Act requirements along Highway 20 at H, G and F streets.
The work is part of a $7 million project to update ADA ramps, modify traffic signals and construct new left turn lanes on Highway 20 at H, G and F streets and add a second left turn lane on northbound Highway 70 at 5th Street. Completion is expected this year.
