Caltrans Promotes Opportunities for Jobseekers

North Region Career Fair Scheduled for June 1 in Marysville   

MARYSVILLE – Accountants, engineers, equipment operators, mechanics, office workers, environmental planners and other professionals can explore career opportunities at Caltrans during a special Career Fair next week in Marysville.

Jobseekers from Sacramento to Yreka and from Truckee to Eureka are encouraged to attend the Caltrans North Region event on Thursday, June 1 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Caltrans District 3 office, 703 B Street, Marysville.

Community members can visit information booths featuring Caltrans programs such as information technology and maintenance, obtain tips about the state hiring process and receive career counseling. At the same time, current Caltrans employees can discover new opportunities and information about career advancement.

The North Region encompasses Caltrans Districts 1, 2 and 3, employing nearly 2,700 workers and maintaining and operating 10,785 lane miles in 22 Northern California counties.

Statewide, Caltrans manages more than 50,000 miles of California’s highway and freeway lanes, provides inter-city rail services, provides permits for over 400 public airports and special hospital heliports and works with local governmental agencies.
