SLY PARK ROAD UNDERCROSSING BRIDGE REPLACEMENT

Description
The existing bridge, built in 1964, is approaching the end of its service life due to advancing corrosion of the deck and superstructure reinforcement (rebar) caused by routine applications of roadway de-icing salts. Caltrans is responding in an appropriate time frame to replace Sly Park Undercrossing before the level of distress reaches a point that would affect the safety or serviceability of the bridge.

Project Benefits
Replacing the structure will ensure safety to the traveling public. The project will also add sidewalks to both sides of Sly Park Road, curbs, curb ramps and gutters.
