Public Invited To Weigh In On Community Enhancements For Sr 94 Express Lanes Project
Caltrans and SANDAG will host the second of two community workshops to collect input on potential community enhancements, such as parks and open space, related to the proposed State Route 94 (SR-94) Express Lanes Project. Feedback from the workshops will be used to develop a list of potential enhancement options for evaluation in an environmental impact report/environmental impact study (EIR/EIS) and associated engineering studies. Spanish interpretation will be available at both workshops.
The SR-94 project proposes to connect the Interstate 805 (I-805) South Express Lanes with Downtown San Diego by adding new Express Lanes in between the existing lanes of SR 94 – one in each direction – and a new direct connector between SR-94 and I-805. The Express Lanes would accommodate new Bus Rapid Transit service, as well as carpools/vanpools traveling between South Bay and downtown. Interchanges, bridge overcrossings, and undercrossings would be modified to improve traffic flow and pedestrian and bicycle access for the community.
