Major Closures Scheduled for I-15, I-805 This Summer
Motorists are asked to Steer Clear

WHO:

Caltrans District 11 Director Laurie Berman, San Diego Association of Governments Executive Director Gary Gallegos and a representative from the California Highway Patrol.

WHAT:

Officials will be available for interviews regarding major freeway improvements that will require two upcoming closures of freeways this summer.

Motorists will be detoured around an approximately 3-mile stretch of southbound Interstate 15 (I-15) on Saturday, July 27, from 7 p.m. through 4 a.m. Monday, July 29. The closure will be from State Route 56/Ted Williams Parkway to Rancho Peñasquitos Boulevard/Poway Road for drainage improvements.

Interstate 805 (I-805) will be closed for 7 miles in both directions on Sunday, August 18, from 3 p.m. through 5 a.m. on Monday, August 19. The closure will be between State Route 54 and State Route 905, so crews can demolish the East Palomar Street Bridge to make way for a new direct access ramp (DAR). The DAR will offer a convenient way for carpoolers and transit to enter the Express Lanes currently under construction on I-805 and access the future East Palomar Transit Station and Park & Ride.

WHEN:

Tuesday, July 9, at 10 to 11 a.m.
