Overnight Closures of Euclid Avenue at Interstate 805
SAN DIEGO – Euclid Avenue at Interstate 805 (I-805) will be closed intermittently overnight during the next three weeks to accommodate work to widen the freeway bridge. Euclid Avenue will be closed between Sweetwater Road and Ridgeway Drive Sundays through Fridays between the hours of 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. beginning tonight through May 10. Motorists are urged to avoid the area or take alternative routes.
DETOURS ARE AS FOLLOWS:
Southbound Euclid Avenue Closure at I-805: Drivers who wish to travel south on Euclid Avenue will be detoured west on East 22nd Street, south on Prospect Street, south on Vista Way/Prospect Street, then east on Sweetwater Road to Euclid Avenue.
Northbound Euclid Avenue Closure at I-805: Drivers who wish to travel north on Euclid Avenue will be detoured west on Sweetwater Road, north on Prospect Street/Vista Way, north on Prospect Street, east on East 22nd Street, north on Prospect Street, then east on East 20th Street to northbound Euclid Avenue.
The I-805 South Express Lanes Project includes building one carpool lane in each direction along an eight-mile segment of the freeway from East Palomar Street in Chula Vista to State Route 94 in San Diego. Construction of the carpool lanes is scheduled for completion in late 2013.
