Northbound SR-125 at Mission Gorge Road Closed Sunday Morning
SAN DIEGO – Early Sunday morning Caltrans Maintenance crews will close all northbound lanes of State Route 125 (SR-125) between State Route 52 (SR-52) and Mission Gorge Road for a safety project. Caltrans will close the lanes from 3-9 a.m. to install rumble strips on all northbound lanes at the intersection of SR-125 and Mission Gorge Road.
Rumble strips are designed to alert motorists by causing a small vibration and audio rumbling transmitted though the wheels into the vehicle body. This new safety feature is in addition to increased road signs and blinking lights that have installed at this intersection.
Changeable Message Signs will be place at Navajo Road and Grossmont College Drive to inform motorists of the closure. All existing motorists will be detoured to eastbound and westbound SR-52.
Motorists are reminded to slow down and safely move over a lane when Caltrans or other emergency vehicles are displaying flashing amber lights. It’s the law!
