Overnight Closures of Northbound Interstate 805 at East Palomar Street Scheduled Monday and Tuesday

SAN DIEGO –Northbound Interstate 805 (I-805) will be closed overnight between East Orange Avenue and Telegraph Canyon Road in Chula Vista on Monday and Tuesday while workers erect temporary structures to accommodate the construction of a Direct Access Ramp (DAR).

Two lanes of northbound I-805 will be closed between 9 p.m. and midnight and all northbound lanes will be closed between midnight and 4 a.m. both nights.  The southbound lanes will remain open.

Motorists are urged to avoid the area or take alternate routes.  Motorists will be detoured around the nighttime closures.  Trucks will be detoured away from local neighborhoods.

Residents adjacent to I-805 and East Palomar Street can expect intermittent construction noise and lights overnight on Monday and Tuesday.

Construction of the East Palomar Street DAR, Transit Station and Park & Ride is part of the first phase of the I-805 South Express Lanes Project, a $1.4 billion effort to create a modern new transportation backbone for South County. The East Palomar Street DAR, Transit Station and Park & Ride is scheduled to be completed in 2014.
