Southbound Interstate 805 Closed Thursday Night From Interstate 5/805 Merge to State Route 52
SAN DIEGO –Construction crews will close all lanes on southbound Interstate 805 (I-805) from the Interstate 5/I-805 merge to State Route 52 (SR-52) on Thursday from 9:30 p.m. until 5 a.m. to remove overhead freeway signs.
Motorists will be detoured to southbound I-5, then eastbound on SR-52 to northbound or southbound I-805. Changeable Message Signs are in place advising of the upcoming closure. Detour signs will be placed to assist motorists around the closure.
The work is part of Stage 1 of Interstate 805 North Express Lanes Project to construct one carpool lane in each direction in the median of I-805 from just north of SR-52 to just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. The project will also construct a Direct Access Ramp to and from southbound I-805 at Carroll Canyon Road. Additional improvements include bridge widening and ramp and noise barrier modifications. This stage is estimated to cost approximately $86 million.
