Southbound I-15 Closed in Mira Mesa & Scripps Ranch
SAN DIEGO – The southbound Interstate 15 (I-15) main lanes will be closed, weather permitting, for approximately three consecutive nights beginning Sunday for the continued construction of the Mira Mesa Direct Access Ramp (DAR), according to Caltrans.
The lanes will close at 11 p.m. each night and reopen at 5 a.m. the following day. The closures will take place between Mira Mesa Boulevard and Carroll Canyon Road. Southbound traffic will detour west on Mira Mesa Boulevard, then south on Black Mountain Road to access I-15 from Carroll Canyon Road. During the closures, the southbound Express Lanes will be open and free to all motorists.
The Mira Mesa DAR will link the new Miramar College Transit Station, which is also under construction, to the I-15 Express Lanes via Hillery Drive. This will be the fifth DAR constructed along the I-15 Corridor and will support future Rapid Transit service anticipated to begin in summer of 2014.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and safely move over a lane when Caltrans or other emergency vehicles are displaying flashing amber lights. It’s the law!
