Caltrans will present an Adopt-A-Highway Volunteer of the Year certificate to Calexico Mission School for its outstanding participation in the Caltrans Adopt-A-Highway Program. The program provides an opportunity for individuals, groups and businesses to adopt stretches of state highways for litter cleanup and other highway beautification activities. The Calexico Mission School was one of seven winners of the Volunteer of the Year Award. The group of 32 students and four adults won the category for East Region. This ceremony will recognize their efforts to help protect and preserve Imperial County’s natural resources saving taxpayers more than $1,400 this past year.
