Construction to Begin Next Week on I- 805 North Project in Golden Triangle
SAN DIEGO –An $86 million freeway improvement project will begin Monday, featuring the construction of High Occupancy Vehicle (HOV) lanes in the median of Interstate 805 (I-805) between Mira Mesa Boulevard and State Route 52 (SR-52), according to Caltrans.
The Interstate 805 North Project is an $86 million, four-mile long project to build one HOV lane in each direction and build south-facing Direct Access Ramps at Carroll Canyon Road.
The project will help reduce traffic congestion and is one of several projects under construction along the I-805 corridor. Project contractor Skanska USA Civil of San Diego is expected to complete the work during the winter of 2015.
To minimize delays to the motoring public, the majority of the work will occur overnight between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. Motorists are encouraged to drive defensively and alertly in construction work zones. The I-805 North Hotline for information is (877) 821-4280.
