Northbound I-15 at SR-76 Closed Tonight
SAN DIEGO – Northbound Interstate 15 (I-15) at State Route 76 (SR-76) will be closed tonight from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m.
Motorists will be directed to exit at the SR-76 off-ramp, cross SR-76 and re-enter I-15. This closure will allow crews to join the existing SR-76 bridge segment to the new bridge with a smooth, continuous deck surface and install traffic sensors on I-15.
The loop on-ramps from SR 76 to I-15 will be open with flaggers directing traffic.
In addition, lanes on northbound and southbound I-15 will be closed intermittently on Thursday night as crews install electronic message signs as part of the I-15/SR-76 Interchange improvement project.
The I-15/SR-76 Interchange improvement project is scheduled for completion in September and is part of a larger effort to widen and upgrade SR-76 between Interstate 5 and I-15. The next and final phase of construction is scheduled to begin in the first few months of 2014 and will widen SR-76 from South Mission Road to Old Highway 395.
