Saturday Morning Maintenance Work on the San Diego-Coronado Bridge
SAN DIEGO – Construction crews from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will be working on the San Diego-Coronado Bridge Saturday morning from 3 to 11. Crews will be painting permanent lane makings as part of regularly scheduled maintenance work to clean and treat the bridge deck.
At least one lane in each direction will be open during work hours. Construction crews will close the on-ramps to the San Diego-Coronado Bridge at Cesar E. Chavez Parkway and from northbound Interstate 5 (I-5). Motorists on northbound I-5 will be detoured to the J Street off-ramp then back onto southbound I-5 to the San Diego-Coronado Bridge. Motorists in the community of Logan Heights will be detoured to northbound Kearney Avenue to the 19th Street on-ramp to northbound I-5 and then follow the same route.
