Bike Path Through Camp Pendleton Closed Monday - Friday

SAN DIEGO – Military operations will close the bike path along Old Highway 101 between Las Pulgas Road and the fence line at the southern boundary of San Onofre State Beach Monday through Friday during daylight hours.

Caltrans will place detour signs and open the freeway shoulders along Interstate 5 from Las Pulgas Road to Basilone Road to bicycles during the closures. Bicyclists must exit at all freeway off-ramps including weigh stations and vista points to avoid possible conflict with vehicles. Bicycling along freeway shoulders is not recommended for other than expert riders.

Motorists are reminded to share the road and drive alertly.
