Nighttime Delays Expected Next Week For Construction Work On SR-78 at Nordahl Road
SAN DIEGO – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) expects traffic delays next week as both directions of State Route 78 may be closed for five consecutive nights at the Nordahl Road bridge starting Sunday, March 4 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
Caltrans said the work is necessary to complete a temporary pedestrian bridge by the end of next week as part of the replacement of the Nordahl Road bridge. Traffic delays are also expected on Nordahl Road during these closures. The closures may be rescheduled if weather or construction materials availability plays a role.
Motorists caught in the construction will be detoured to exit at the Nordahl Road off-ramp then reenter SR-78 at the Nordahl Road on-ramp.
If you have questions about this project or other projects located near SR-78 and I-15, Caltrans will hold an informational open house on Wednesday, March 7, from 6-7 p.m. at the San Marcos Community Center located at 3 Civic Center Drive in San Marcos.
For more information on this project, call the Project Information Hotline at (858) 668-3368 or log-on to www.KeepSanDiegoMoving.com.
