Full Closures on State Route 78 in San Marcos Scheduled for Sunday Night

SAN DIEGO –Westbound State Route 78 (SR-78) will be closed at Nordahl Road Bridge Sunday from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. The eastbound lanes will be closed at Nordahl Road Bridge from 10 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. and at Barham Drive from 11:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).

The detours for motorists eastbound and westbound on SR-78 at Nordahl Road are to exit the highway at the Nordahl Road off-ramp and re-enter via the on-ramp. Eastbound motorists will be detoured off SR-78 at Barham Drive and travel east to Mission Road south, then north on Nordahl Road to eastbound SR-78.

The closures are part of ongoing construction to improve traffic congestion at SR-78 and Interstate 15.
