Sunday Connector Closures at Southbound I-5 and SR-78

SAN DIEGO –Two connector ramps at the I-5/SR-78 interchange in Carlsbad will be closed this Sunday morning from 3-7 for landscape work. The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) reported that the southbound Interstate 5 (I-5) connector will be closed to both directions of State Route 78 (SR-78). The second connector closure is at westbound SR-78 to southbound I-5.

Drivers traveling on southbound I-5 will continue to the Las Flores Street exit to northbound I-5 to eastbound/westbound SR-78.

Drivers traveling on westbound SR-78 will continue to northbound I-5 to the Oceanside Boulevard exit to southbound I-5.

Motorists are reminded to slow down and safely move over a lane when Caltrans or other emergency vehicles are displaying flashing amber lights. It’s the law!
