WHAT:

Officials from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) will hold a ribbon cutting ceremony for the opening of the Interstate 15 (I-15) Express Lanes.

WHY:

Caltrans, FHWA, and SANDAG will host a ceremony to announce the completion of the I-15 Express Lanes. The facility offers 20 miles of congestion-free travel and convenient new entry and exit points. It is open to carpool, vanpools, some clean air vehicles, transit, motorcycles and FasTrak® users.

VISUALS:

A bus, van and a clean air vehicle will drive through a ribbon on the Del Lago DAR to open the northern segment of the I-15 Express Lanes. Transportation officials will be available for interviews following the ceremony.
