WHO: The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), the City of San Diego Storm Water Department and local Adopt A Highway Volunteers.

WHAT: Caltrans will kick off their “Don’t Trash California“ Anti-Litter Campaign. Speakers will discuss the impacts of litter and the costs associated with their clean-up efforts. They will call on motorists to do their share in reducing this waste and helping the environment.

WHEN: Friday, April 22, at 1 p.m.

WHERE: The event will take place on the Richmond Street Bridge over State Route 163 through Balboa Park.

PHOTO/VIDEO OPPORTUNITY: This event will feature a collection of trash that was collected along county highways. Remarks will be made from Caltrans District Director Laurie Berman and City of San Diego Storm Water Pollution and Prevention Education Supervisor Bill Harris. Caltrans Adopt A Highways volunteers will be available for interviews.
