Portion of Southbound Interstate 15 Closed Tonight

SAN DIEGO – Motorists on southbound Interstate 15 (I-15), and State Route 78 (SR-78) headed to southbound I-15, will be detoured around a planned closure of the freeway tonight. The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) confirmed that the closure will take place on I-15 between SR-78 and Valley Parkway from 11 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Motorists traveling south on I-15 will be detoured east on SR-78 to south on South Centre City Parkway to west on Valley Parkway and back to southbound I-15. Additionally, the connectors from eastbound and westbound SR-78 to southbound I-15 will be closed during this work. Motorists traveling east on SR-78 will be detoured to southbound I-15 via South Centre City Parkway to the Valley Parkway on-ramp. Motorists traveling west on SR-78 will be detoured south on Nordahl Road/Auto Park Way and brought back to southbound I-15 at the 9th Avenue/Auto Parkway on-ramp. Detour signs will be in place to direct motorists.
