Northbound I-5 and I-805 Closed at the Merge
SAN DIEGO – All northbound Interstate 5 and 805 at the merge is being detoured to the State Route 56 (SR-56) bypass lanes due to police activity, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). All traffic is being detoured to eastbound SR-56. Motorists should avoid the area if possible.
At this time it is not know how long the freeways will be closed.
If you see a Caltrans or other emergency vehicle on the side of the highway with its flashing light, move over if safe to do so, or slow down. It's the law!
