Night Work Continues on I-5 Ramps in the South Bay
SAN DIEGO – Pavement work on off- and on-ramps on I-5 in the South Bay is nearing completion. Beginning Sunday evening construction crews will be working on various ramps in both directions from just north of the San Ysidro Port of Entry to 24th Street in National City, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The project also includes the closure of the connector ramp at State Route 54. Crews will be working nightly through Thursday between the hours of 7 p.m. and 5 a.m.
Consecutive off-ramps on northbound and southbound Interstate 5 within project limits may be closed. Crews will place a Changeable Message Sign in advance of these closures.
Construction crews have been working several weeks repaving the ramps to extend the life of the pavement. For additional information contact the Caltrans Public Information Office at (619) 688-6670.
