New Express Lanes Entrance on Southbound Interstate 15 near Mira Mesa Boulevard
SAN DIEGO – Motorists will have a new entrance to the southbound Interstate 15 (I-15) Express Lanes when traveling in the Mira Mesa area, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
Starting July 25, motorists traveling southbound on I-15 will be able to access an Express Lanes entrance just north of Mira Mesa Boulevard. This new entrance will only serve southbound users.
Future Express Lanes entrances will be opened soon near Poway Road and Miramar Road. Also, the entrance and exit to and from the Express Lanes at the I-15 just south of the I-15/SR 163 split, which are now closed, will reopen shortly as well. These additional entrances and exits will be opened over August and September, completing the South Segment of the project, which is a year ahead of schedule.
These new Express Lanes entrances will give motorists greater flexibility when commuting along the I-15 Corridor. They’re open free of charge to carpools, vanpools, buses and motorcyclists. Single-occupancy drivers may access them for a fee.
