Altered Westbound Poway Road Detour at Interstate 15
SAN DIEGO – The Poway Road/Rancho Peñasquitos Boulevard bridge will continue to be closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. each night this week, weather permitting, through Friday at 5 a.m. according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). However, beginning tonight at 9 p.m. the existing detour will be altered. This new detour will be in place for three nights for westbound motorists and motorists seeking to access northbound and southbound I-15 from Poway Road.
Motorists traveling west on Poway Road will be detoured north on Sabre Springs Parkway to west on SR-56 onto northbound I-15, or continue west on SR-56 onto northbound Carmel Mountain Road or southbound Rancho Peñasquitos Boulevard to access southbound I-15.
The altered detour will allow SDG&E crews to continue underground utility work on Poway Road between Sabre Springs Parkway west to I-15.
