Pavement Work Scheduled for I-8
SAN DIEGO – Pavement work on Interstate 8 will be noisy for residents in the El Cajon area, according to the California Department of Transportation. Work will take place between 2nd Street and Greenfield Drive Tuesday evening at 10 though Wednesday morning at 5.
The work is part of the Reduce the Wait on I-8 project that will extend the eastbound left lane and shoulder from 2nd Street to Greenfield Drive. In addition the bridges at East Main Street and Broadway will be widened and noise abatement such as walls and berms are also planned.
The $9.5 million project is scheduled to be complete in late 2012.
