SR-67 Prospect Avenue off-ramp Closed for Six Months
SAN DIEGO – A long-term closure is scheduled at the northbound State Route 67 off-ramp to Prospect Avenue. The off-ramp will close for six months beginning Thursday evening at 9. On Friday morning at 5 crews from the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will open a temporary off-ramp at Graves Avenue, approximately a quarter-mile north of Prospect Avenue.
The posted detour to Prospect Avenue is to turn right at the traffic signal at the end of Graves Avenue off-ramp, travel south on Graves Avenue then right on Prospect Avenue.
“We need to close the ramp to finish constructing the four bridges and reconfigure the Prospect Avenue off-ramp,” said Resident Engineer Mike Moen.
Once the completion of the new Prospect Avenue off-ramp is complete, it will reopen and the Graves Avenue motorists will close permanently.
The work is part of the State Route 52 Sunny Side Gateway Project that is scheduled to be completed by early spring 2011.
