Southbound Interstate 15 On-Ramp From Mira Mesa Boulevard Closed for the Weekend
SAN DIEGO – The southbound Interstate 15 (I-15) on-ramp from westbound Mira Mesa Boulevard will be temporarily closed starting Friday at 10 p.m. and will reopen at 5 a.m. on Monday. The southbound I-15 on-ramp from eastbound Mira Mesa Boulevard will remain open during this time, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).
Motorists traveling west on Mira Mesa Boulevard are advised to detour south on Black Mountain Road to east on Carroll Canyon Road to southbound I-15. Motorists east of I-15 may also detour south on Scripps Ranch Boulevard, follow the road as it turns into Carroll Canyon Road to access southbound I-15. Detour signs will be posted to direct motorists.
This closure is necessary to complete reconstruction of the on-ramp as part of the ongoing I-15 Express Lanes project. Once complete, the new on-ramp will have an additional lane. Construction will take place over the weekend in order to minimize impacts to the weekday commute.
For more information on the I-15 Express Lanes project, call the project information hotline at (866) 890-1397 or log-on to www.KeepSanDiegoMoving.com.
