Apparent Low Bidder Named for I-805 Carroll Canyon Project
SAN DIEGO – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is reviewing the bids submitted for the Interstate 805 (I-805) Carroll Canyon Project. Diablo Contractors from San Ramon has submitted the low bid of $47.2 million. Caltrans will announce the contract winner within the next two months.
The project will extend Carroll Canyon Road under I-805 and build a high occupancy vehicle (HOV) lane in each direction along I-805 from Carroll Canyon Road north to I-5. A northerly Direct Access Ramp (DAR) will also be added from the Carroll Canyon Road Extension to the HOV lanes. The project will complete a continuous 10-mile HOV lane in each direction from Mira Mesa Boulevard on I-805 to Manchester Avenue on I-5.
