SAN DIEGO – More than 300 people attended the first public meeting for the Interstate 5 North Coast Corridor Project last week, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans).   On Tuesday evening the second of five meetings is scheduled at Westfield’s UTC Shopping Center in San Diego.

The meeting will be at the shopping center’s Forum Hall about Wells Fargo Bank, 4545 La Jolla Village Drive, from 5-8 p.m. The meetings are open-house-style to solicit public input and answer questions regarding the project’s Draft Environmental Impact Report/Environmental Impact Statement.  The project proposes to add capacity to I-5, from La Jolla Village Drive in San Diego north to Vandegrift Boulevard/Harbor Drive in Oceanside.

The public is encouraged to attend and discuss questions and concerns with engineers, noise and traffic specialists and property agents. There will be more than 40 displays showing what is being proposed.  Along with a comment table, Caltrans is providing a court reporter for those who wish to leave a verbal comment.
