Interstate 15 Closed at Carroll Canyon Road for Four Nights
SAN DIEGO – Interstate 15 (I-15) will be closed in both directions, and detours in place, for four nights beginning Sunday at the Carroll Canyon Road bridge, according to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). The closure will occur on Sunday night from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. and on Monday through Wednesday nights from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m.
Motorists traveling south on I-15 will be detoured to the Carroll Canyon Road off-ramp, across the intersection and to the on-ramp back to southbound Interstate 15. Motorists traveling north on I-15 will be detoured to the Carroll Canyon Road off-ramp, across the intersection and to the on-ramp back to northbound I-15. Detour signs will be posted to direct motorists.
The Carroll Canyon Road bridge over I-15 will also be closed during these times. Motorists traveling east on Carroll Canyon Road will be detoured to north on Black Mountain Road to east on Mira Mesa Boulevard to south on Scripps Ranch Boulevard onto Carroll Canyon Road. Motorists traveling west on Carroll Canyon Road will be detoured to north on Scripps Ranch Boulevard to west on Mira Mesa Boulevard to south on Black Mountain Road onto Carroll Canyon Road. Detour signs will be in place to direct motorists.
These closures will allow construction crews to continue with demolition work on the north side of the bridge as part of the I-15 Express Lanes Project. Bridge construction may cause noise but must be done at night to minimize disruptions to the weekday commute.
