Hardscrabble Bridge in Del Norte County. This $3 million bridge replacement project is scheduled to begin construction by fall 2007, with completion by fall 2008. Using an innovative technique we call the 'Jack and Slide' method, the new bridge will be constructed just upstream of the existing bridge. The existing bridge will then be removed and the new bridge will be jacked up and slid into place on new abutments at the original location.
