San Bernardino Freeway (I-10) Restoration Project
THE PROJECT
The east- and westbound San Bernardino Freeway (I-10) will be resurfaced in both directions, between the Golden State Freeway (I-5) and the San Gabriel River Freeway (I-605). Work includes replacement of damaged slabs, upgrading bridge rail, adding shoulders, and realigning ramps within the project limits.

SUMMARY
The San Bernardino Freeway (I-10) is a major thoroughfare serving commuters traveling between Los Angeles and its numerous eastern suburbs, as well as communities in San Bernardino and Riverside counties. The I-10 is also used by large commercial vehicles. As a result of heavy use, the roadbed has experienced extensive wear.

BENEFITS
The new surface will provide a smoother, safer drive for motorists. Pavement restoration will reduce time required for maintenance and minimize the need for lane closures.

STATUS
Concrete replacement along westbound I-10 HOV lane has been completed. Work on eastbound I-10 has been completed. The majority of the concrete replacement along the other lanes within the project boundaries have been completed. Long-term ramp closures have also been completed.
