Acting Deputy District Director, External Affairs
External Affairs is accountable for providing excellent customer service through communication, public outreach and education, to build and enhance successful relationships in support of the Caltrans mission of improving mobility across California.

- Governmental Affairs - Tasked with keeping the Legislature, Governor, Agency, and Department staff informed about the consequences of pending legislative actions, and works to resolve issues concerning legislators outside of the legislative bill process. This allows flexibility in the outcome, reduces negative publicity, and enhances goodwill between the Department and the Legislature. Specifically, the Office advances the Administration's policy, advises the Director, Agency and Governor's Office and disseminates information to legislators and their staffs.
- Graphic Services - We are a staff of technically skilled professionals who support Caltrans, District 7 with Multimedia services. Our creative team has expertise in graphics, photography, videography, web development, and audio-visual equipment and services. Our goal is to build a successful relationship in support of Caltrans mission of improving mobility across California.
- Media and Public Affairs - The Office of Public Affairs and Media Relations is the communications arm of the District. Public Affairs staff inform the public of Caltrans projects, programs and activities through awareness campaigns, community meetings, events, school based outreach, the Internet and other computer based tools. The team works to promote a positive image of Caltrans in local communities. Staff responds to public inquiries and resolves complex issues. The Media Relations team, in addition to the aforementioned tasks, are district spokespersons and work with local, national and international media outlets to disseminate information about Caltrans, develop both internal and external communications and coordinate media events and campaigns.
