Gerardo De Santos serves as Acting District Director for Caltrans District 12, encompassing Orange County. He has worked for the Division of Engineering Services (DES) in the Office of Structure Construction as an area construction manager for Districts 8 and 9 since 2009. Gerardo has had the opportunity to work for the Division of Engineering Services in Sacramento and in Districts 7, 8, 9 and 12. He has also completed assignments as the Interim Deputy District Director of Construction in District 8, as the Interim Deputy District Director of Planning and Local Assistance in District 8, and most recently as the Acting Office Chief of Construction in District 12. Gerardo graduated from the University of California, Irvine with Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Civil Engineering. He also earned a Project Management Certificate from California State University, Sacramento.
